I was adding an additional post because I ran out of space to say it sufficiently when I was scooped by the comments because I had to edit the post like twenty times to correct typos and add hashtags (because that’s how search works, so that it is opt-in and not mandatory), and then I ran out of space, but yes, editing is free! It’s been so inspiring to watch a truly vibrant and authentic development community work. It’s enough to make you believe in humanity again, which—to be fair, after last year—was a tall order.

@Knz@masto.ai It is so confusing at first. There are a million apps for UI. There is so much customization, it took me months to get comfortable. But that’s because you can have it however you want it, it’s not being forced on you one particular way. Which is amazing and daunting, to find how you want it. I suggest trying many apps early and often. @ivory@tapbots.social @tootapp@mastodon.social @IceCubesApp@mastodon.online @MetaText@mastodon.social are my favs for iOS and @elk@m.webtoo.ls is the most beautiful for desktop, hands down.

@donmelton@mstdn.social I edited it again to add, not sure if elk.zone isn't accepting the edits, will try directly on masto, thank you for letting me know! I definitely forget my alt text, but almost always remember and definitely appreciate reminders when I do not. This time I remembered within seconds but it looks like the edit didn't take the first time.

@donmelton@mstdn.social Thank you for pointing this out! @elk@m.webtoo.ls there seems to be a bug that alt text addition edits are not sticking! I tried it thrice here, and neither time took, but it looks like it worked on my home site.

@LynJef@mastodon.social there are about a dozen bot accounts that replicate all of Twitter that are making things a bit confusing. There’s a little symbol that shows up in some apps to show you which account those are, but it’s not always clear. I’m trying to find a way to clear that up.
