A proper #introduction following the #academictwitter #twexit -- I am an associate professor of literature and philosophy in New Jersey, though I live in the Bronx. This year, I published my first book, on Bentham's manuscripts on sexual nonconformity https://www.upress.virginia.edu/title/5744 and I'm working on a second, on slavery and British national debt in the 18th century. Aside from academics, I post about queer life, boardgames, public bathing, movies, light sporting content, and my cats Dolores & Camilla.

OK, I created a new instance for us eighteenth-century people: http://c18.masto.host
Space is limited until we fill up and then I'll start asking for contributions to expand!
Just had my first public bath in three years, at King Spa. It's maybe a silly thing to miss during a pandemic, but bathing makes for a nice sense of community.
Have to get in all the glamor shots of my cat in her post-surgical recovery suit before she goes back to nude modeling
I wonder if others would be motivated by the creation of an 18th-c instance. I'd be happy to initiate, but I would be able to support a bigger host with small contributions. (Yes, you can still follow people anywhere, but it would be your "local.") LMK if that sounds interesting!
