Please remember the 6-2-1 rule:

6 hours of sleep
2 warm meals
1 shower

Per day.
Not per Congress.

Please don't overwork yourself. If you feel exhausted, please take a break. Pease don't hesitate to call us via DECT 1023 at any time to sign out of a shift if you can't make it or feel uncomfortable for any reason.

P.S.: Drink more water!

The #39C3 Call for Angels has just been released:

https://events.ccc.de/en/2025/11/22/39c3-call-for-angels/

We also have opened the registration in the Engelsystem:

https://engel.events.ccc.de/

It's still almost empty. Angel types, shifts, etc. will appear over the course of the next few weeks.

Last, but not least, please also have a look at your email settings in your profile: https://engel.events.ccc.de/settings/profile

Please make sure to check the last box ("To possibly receive vouchers..."). As usual, we currently do not know if there will be Angel vouchers for #40C3 and if there are, how many hours are required to get them, but if they exist, you want that box checked to get one.

There are now some teardown shifts in the Engelsystem tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Please sign up for those if you want to help. Once they are full, there is no need to come by. Teardown so far went smooth and there will be no work left.

Please see here for the details: https://engel.events.ccc.de/news/40

To test the new version yourself, just head to your settings page and select the "Engelsystem Pro" theme. DISCLAIMER: You cannot unsee this. If you are prone to any symptoms induced by Enterprise grade software related stress, please grab a Tschunk from @c3bar first to be ready for immediate treatment!

Please note that the building is in the process of closing for the day right now, so please consider heading to the New Year's party of your choice instead. Tomorrow, its just a few hungover people sorting stuff. But January 2nd and 3rd will be busy!

It took a few days longer than expected due to some external dependencies, but now it is finally out: The #38C3 Call for Angels:

https://events.ccc.de/2024/11/23/38c3-call-for-angels/

The Engelsystem is now also open for registration at https://engel.events.ccc.de/. Additional angel types, shifts, etc. will start to appear soon™.

In addition, we revised our Angel Guide which is now much easier to access than before and can be found at https://guide.c3heaven.de/.

@nicolewd Yes, of course there is. Every serious software product needs AI integration in 2025! Just follow this link: https://engel.events.ccc.de/shifts/random ShiftGPT will then select a suitable shift for you, based on your past shifts and qualifications. But please don't abuse the feature as its high power demand due to the processing overhead might overload the @C3Stadtwerke electrical grid.

@Mr_Captcha 420 is ok as long as it happens outside and not right next to the doors. 4-2-0 indeed isn't very excellent to other people. The first two numbers of the 6-2-1 rule allow for some individual flexibilty, but the third one is non-negotiable.

@discontinuity If long loading times are a business-critical feature for you, try to select all locations, all angel types and a sufficiently long time period (e.g. all four days) in the shift overview, such that it displays a few thousand shifts at once. We can assure you that there are plenty of bugs, including race conditions, and we actually had a funny SSO issue just a few days ago. Talk to @MyIgel or @msquare and bring a spare Tschunk if you want to know more.

Replying to

@insanelygreat Almost. There will be a third kind of angel shirts this year, see https://guide.c3heaven.de/#_t_shirts Some details regarding those had to be confirmed with third parties first so that everything would be correct when the Engelsystem goes public and people select their preferred shirt size during registration.
