@daringfireball@mastodon.social I also remember At Ease from middle school, including the fact that while it appeared to limit access to files only belonging to you, that this was superficial. A number of students accessed other students' files via HyperCard trivially.
@mjd@mathstodon.xyz@pozorvlak@mathstodon.xyz they don’t expel earwax, this is one of the fascinating details that I do remember clearly from the book. It accumulates over their lifetime. Similar to tree rings, ear wax ends up as a record of their life and it’s possible to infer how much stress they were under by looking at the amount of cortisol trapped in it during that period. Great book!
