@codinghorror@infosec.exchange huh. i have not had bad experiences with the nest detectors. but they've been cancelled now and it appears that other connected detectors have been cancelled as well (both kidde and first alert). the only homekit aware detector i know of is from owl home. but it's scary to entrust your physical(!) safety to a startup.
