Time to break out the soldering iron! Just got my iCEBreaker FPGA LED kit. Built the free and open source tools last night (nextpnr, icestorm) in preparation. Ready to get knee deep in verilog! I've wanted to learn more about place and route. Now I can.

@bamfic@hub.spaz.org Surprisingly, yes! I got the VexRiscv 32-bit RISC-V CPU running Linux v5.0.13 last night. Booting from the SD card didn't work though... had to load the kernel and initramfs over serial.
My #OrangeCrab and fancy case arrived! Time to explore Linux on RISC-V and do something with it.

I've been playing with Python and graphviz to visualize my arguments for/against different beliefs as an "epistemic graph." Here's a stab at US mail-in voting. What do you think?
Upgraded to Linux 5.6.x, so I decided the next logical thing to do was play with the new io_uring interface, which seems to be batched IO without all the system call overhead. Specifically I wanted to see if it was possible to dump file info/stat faster than with syscalls. Turns out it's quicker until you flush the caches and realize that disks are mega slow and a fancy interface can't fix that... Still fun to play with!
Uh oh, I started seeding for aidungeon.io this morning and just checked my box. It's at 250+GB / 1TB uploaded! I think I may have to set a rate limit... #AIDungeon2
Had some help soldering my iCEBreaker FPGA + LED panel kit and now it all works! I attempted to record my wife's pixel art on it, but I ended up find ghosts? Those "reflections" are spooky... (I'm not entirely sure what's causing it.)
