I only had a terrible phone camera to hand, but my official PaleNeØ fan did cast quite nice shadows.

Last weekend's #DwarfFortress session featured a goblin siege where they broke in through the dog kennels. But thanks to @Diziet@mastodon.me.uk's advice, that didn't help them very much. Now I need to tidy up and maybe make sure it doesn't happen again.
I'm going on holiday tomorrow, but I can put off packing a little longer with some #DwarfFortress.
My #DwarfFortress has had quite an uneventful spring. I could go in search of excitement, but it does tend to find me anyway.
Last session of #DwarfFortress we had a mostly successful (from our point of view) attack from some elves. But they did get into our kennels and kill an awful lot of dogs so I fear tonight will mostly involve disposing of the bodies. Join me if that sounds interesting:
Last week, my #DwarfFortress made these spectacular trousers. They probably won't feature much in tonight's stream though.
In #DwarfFortress I'd just finished tidying up last session, so obviously tonight will just involve some pleasant pastoral dwarfing and nothing surprising will happen.
On Friday in #DwarfFortress, I built a lever labelled "Release the hounds!" Now the elves have arrived, but they're traders so I probably shouldn't set the dogs on them.

It's often hard to tell what's going to happen in a #DwarfFortress stream. For example last week seemed calm and then the elves and goblins had a battle on our doorstep before a forgotten beast covered several unfortunate people (and dogs) in deadly dust.
So I won't make any predictions about tonight. Join me if you want to find out what happens:
Liverpool Street station is closed this weekend, so trains from Cambridge are being diverted to Stratford. That gave me a new place to cycle home from. I mostly followed the beginning of the 2017 London-Edinburgh-London route, which in turn spent a lot of time following the B1368.
This weekend, Network Rail are doing some track works around Haywards Heath, so the trains from Cambridge are only running as far as Three Bridges. So yesterday I caught one of them and then cycled home.
I decided to try crossing the Thames by the Dartford Tunnel, which worked quite well. The section south of the river was quite hilly, so I was quite happy to get to the relative flatness of Essex.
After the last goblin siege in #DwarfFortress, @Diziet@mastodon.me.uk suggested a way to make it harder to break in through the bolt throwers. Join me as I try to implement it!
Last weekend, the goblins actually managed to break into my #DwarfFortress. Happily they decided shortly afterwards that they didn't like it there and went home. But I'd better try to stop them doing it again. Join me if you like:
On Friday, I most finished cleaning up my #DwarfFortress after the unwelcome dog slaughter. Now I should harden the kennels against attackers for when I have dogs again. Maybe the fields too.

Friday's #DwarfFortress ended with the goblins' breaking down the fortifications and getting into the fortress. Unfortunately, I forgot to press "Post" here, but you can still see how I did, an hour or two in arrears:
