ROFL. But I notice in that image, the AI detector is offering to "Humanize Text -- Make Your Text Human With Undetectible AI". So this is probably spam for a scam service. Probably it always reports "100% AI/GPT". (But AI checkers are a bad thing.)

I dont think its a bubble and i dont think its going away I think it's a bubble in the same sense that the "dotcom bubble" was a bubble. There is way too much hype, everyone is getting into it even if they have no clue what they're doing, and a LOT of the current attempts will be failures. And then after that, we'll find out what AI is actually good for. I'm hoping that humanity will benefit, but I know the Bad Guys will also be using AI to increase their control over us, and increase their profits. But right now, the problem is unknowledgeable people trusting 2026-era LLM AIs to produce reliable results.

No, you should not expect ivermectin to have any effect on hantavirus. There's no evidence, and a widely-shared explanation of how it might work is just wrong.

Darn, I'm almost out!

Five blue flashbulbs, type M3B, and their box, with a $4.39 price tag and a photo of a 1970s woman holding a little camera.


(Those things were expensive! I haven't used that camera since around 1982, so that $4.39 price tag adjusted for inflation comes out to ~$1.30 per bulb in 2026 dollars.)

Meet our last aquarium fish, Methuselina, a probably-female Corydoras splendens catfish. Despite appearances, she is not dead. She's just resting.

White belly of a little fish which is lying nearly upside-down and bent, in a dark algae-covered aquarium.


We bought her on July 13, 2002. That is not a misprint. She was a small adult fish at that time, so she must be at least 24½ years old.

I assume she doesn't have much longer to live -- but with her history, I don't know if that means days or years!
