If you like #podcast s I have one: http://www.scienceforthepeople.ca/ If you like #science #news I share it! It's what I'm hoping to do here, I love to share what I read, esp when it's funny. And also I can tell you things like how to identify that #rat you've got. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRxYm43L/

Last, I love pests. I love rats. Trash pandas. Litter puppies. Snakes. Pigeons, sparrows, gulls. If it bothers people? I love it. Because I love what it says about us. (What it says? Our priorities are BIZARRE)

@hildabast DO I LOVE BIN CHICKENS YOU BET I DOOOOO https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/12/science/cockatoos-humans-garbage-bins.html

@Sheril@mastodon.social But I do agree, I think Twitter has been powerful because...the media was there, we were all there paying attention to it and reporting breathlessly. So many people never even used it at all!

@hildabast I've organized an AMA before but never been IN one. I did have an account with phd flair but can't use it anymore... Also I know a serious redditor but he's not a serious SCIENCE redditor and that matters.

@simonblackley They do! They aren't in the book but they have a plot of dirt in my heart.

Oh ALSO I used to be a #scientist my degree is in physiology and pharmacology, basically DRUGS and #brains and sometimes i have opinions about world of #academia I left behind. I left almost a decade ago but you'd be amazed at how little has changed. I even hosted a podcast about it! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-science-of-mentorship/id1547680839

@stephaniezvan ...the first character in the book is a squirrel. His name is F**king Kevin. If that's any indication.

@hildabast Um no I do not. I used to try r/science but you can't self promote there...
