Predictable. We are in for an ugly slog.

mastodon 4.7.2I'm an artist. I like nerd stuff. I curse. I like some woowoo. I'm grappling with making money ethically while detesting the rot of capitalism. I am furious about how the internet has gone to shit and I will go to great lengths to starve the corpos of my tasty data for no reason but pure spite. I'm kinda over the "world wide" web and I'm a lot more interested in the local web.
I moved to Alaska by choice in 2005, lived in Washington DC area 2018-2021, back to Anchorage since 2022.

Pixelfed:
Low energy today. I'm really behind on some stuff.
Going along on your merry procrastinator way and then one day, BAM. Accosted by reality.
It is time to do the hard work thing you've been avoiding.
Sigh.
Spouse comes over to me, full of catlike smugness.

Your best bet is to go straight to a tattoo artist with a concept or rough sketch, not finished work. Go to the shop in person. Do not email or text. It might be a waste of money/effort to commission a regular artist. Art for skin is different from art on paper. A good tattoo artist will want to take into account placement, etc.
(Plus, little bit of a faux pas to come to a skilled tattoo artist with someone else's work and ask them to be a copier. Ruins some of their fun.)

No worries. A good tattoo artist will make you comfortable and answer your questions. If they are rude or whatever, they are not the artist for you. They may want an nonrefundable art deposit up front. If you aren't vibing with the art process, better to walk away than get tattooed with something you don't love.
The problem with finished work is you fall in love with something that may not work well on your skin. Trust the person holding the needles.
So blizzard has updated Diablo II, a 25 year old game, with a new character class and extra levels. Ha, what kind of nerd loser would be excited about a 25 year old game?
Oh, it's me. Hi. I play D2. It's me.
I'm always on the lookout for art channels/podcasts with interesting perspectives. Stuff that is more about thinking about art or the experience of being an artist than techniques or materials or social media tricks.
Anyway I found a fun one.
Costco has bags of flash frozen musubi.
If it isn't homemade or from a gas station, is it even real musubi?
I didn't buy it.
Linus wandered off last night, back out into the snowy streets. He must be feeling better. He is true to his namesake. It's not that cold outside so he's probably fine. He knows where we are if he wants more food or a warm place to nap.
