@trishagee@mastodon.social Many applications were left unanswered. AI seems unescapable, more and more jobs require its use or experience in it, I struggle to find jobs without that crap. And I have ceased to count the number of recruiters that told me that I should accept AI and start using it.

Employers have become extremely picky and are looking for candidates with the exact set of skills they need for the job: my profile has been declined multiple times late in the process because I lacked professional experience in a specific back-end framework, even though I have experience in similar frameworks I could tap into to quickly learn.

@trishagee@mastodon.social Just like JB said, it is the first time in 10 years I struggle to find a decent job. Sometimes I feel so hopeless that I entertain the idea of leaving the industry altogether and start a new career, until I remember that I have rent to pay and that changing careers will most likely result in severely reduced pay.
