@lexinova@toot.community @ElenLeFoll@fediscience.org sadly it's going to take years to undo Brexit, first to admit we should, then to persuade the rest of Europe we'll be better members this time, and I doubt we'll join the Euro then. One day....

And in the other direction people can have temporary injuries that heal. My mother-in-law broke her leg. She needed a wheelchair when she got out of hospital, now she doesn't, and in between she gradually needed it less, and had good and bad days.
Chronic illness is different, but it still really shouldn't surprise people.
