I have a student that wants to do an MA in Women's and Gender Studies in either Ireland or the UK. Anyone have recommendations for MA programs to look into?
@aram@aoir.social Plz tell me this means I can describe you as "Aram Sinnreich, a face-sitting scholar" whenever I cite you in my future writing?
Has anyone found a place near the conference to buy a USB C to HDMI dongle? #AoIR2024
Has @AoIR@aoir.social released any updates on the policy for adopting official policies? I haven't seen anything since we were all requested to leave feedback on the draft document and am wondering when the next version might be announced and/or be put into effect.

@crystaljjlee@mastodon.social Thanks, Crystal! We actually left one of my panelists' in the room after our panel and nobody has turned it in to lost and found so I'm trying to replace it for her.

I might be biased though. Nick Taylor was my teacher in grad school and his approach to graduate student mentorship is still one that I aspire to every day. I think his deep, earnest, and empathic engagement comes through in the book and will make a similar impact on readers.

@taylorlorenz The good news from Meta just keeps rolling in. Now users can say LGBTQ+ identity is a "mental illness" on the platform again. https://www.wired.com/story/meta-immigration-gender-policies-change/
Any friends putting together panels for @AoIR@aoir.social 2025 and need an extra person?
I feel like this is the archetype and pinnacle of experiences we all have every so often with digital files. I cringe while reading and feel this man's pain, like a familiar old wound is stinging. https://www.wired.com/story/bitcoin-landfill-excavation-james-howells-judge-ruling/

@AoIR@aoir.social That's great news. Thanks for the reply and excited to see what the committee has come up with.

@laurawatts@wandering.shop Thanks Laura. I sent her a link to Goldsmiths' MA in Gender, Media & Culture that I think a lot of folks from the Centre for Feminist Research teach in. I was bummed to realize the Queer History MA had been axed though - I hadn't heard much of the news out of Goldsmiths before then and am only getting up to speed now.
