We always thought of Walnut as our weird lopsided cat... turns out he has a bad knee and hip dysplasia! We found this out from the emergency vet when he came in with a bad limp, due to the feline equivalent of tearing his ACL. He’s now recovering with some serious pain meds, poor guy

To get away from ableist language and other habitual slurs, use brand names and slogans and corporate language. Because corporations are not people and also they’re doing fine.

I realize of course that marvel and DC comics have been “dealing with real life issues” for decades. Still I would love to see a movie, made with skill and depth and feeling, that acknowledges and wrestles with real life evils.
Maybe that’s a dumb thing to want. Maybe seeing the Avengers crush modern day nazis and save the environment from corporate chuckleheads would not do any good. But....

The comics have beyond covered smartening the genre with deconstructed antiheroes... maybe the next step is identifying and grappling with what’s really wrong in the world, as mythic heroes would
