It’s interesting to see the news commentary on the streaming content space missing some big issues. Over the last decade we’ve seen #Netflix become a content company, spending about $17B a year at the moment, but doing it profitably. The competition invested heavily but hasn’t figured out how to do it profitably and is now putting up prices, and taking their own original content off of their services and selling it to Netflix, who know how to monetize it better than they do…

I’m not sure if the me.dm option is really being taken seriously by Medium. I use the web site and my Medium app to create and read blog posts and don’t see any integration or promotion or tooling that would be relevant to me.dm or Mastodon. Am I missing something?
Some extended downtime for mastodon.social right now.
Brad Templeton knows his stuff on self driving cars. I met him and saw a talk he gave on this subject in 2008. This is a good and nuanced discussion of accident safety data from Tesla. I drove several hours with FSD yesterday and was paying attention. It’s getting better and is impressive work, but I was watching it carefully. https://www.forbes.com/sites/bradtempleton/2023/04/26/tesla-again-paints-a-very-misleading-story-with-their-crash-data/
