Dear #Neuromatchstodon, we turned the 'trends' feature on because, well, there wasn't much of a reason to have it off. You can see that in the "explore" tab on the right, and trending hashtags should be displayed on your home and other feeds.
Some details on the implementation of Trends are available here: https://wiki.neuromatch.social/Trending
it's limited at the moment to manually approved hashtags, posts, and authors at the moment, but we'll likely turn that off soon after taking a look for a few days what would be on there. If you'd like to help out approving things or generally help with instance moderation, you are always welcome to join the social working group, see the discord invite in your announcements and https://wiki.neuromatch.social/Onboarding
