@joe@f.duriansoftware.com But there’s no le key on the keyboard… at least fn has one.

When a header typo has just the right rhythm to send my brain into free-association mode...

Macatalyst, Macatalyst, there’s no one like Macatalyst,

For he’s a fiend in macro shape, a platform name antagonist.

You may meet him in a header, you may see him thus declared—

But when the bug's discovered, then Macatalyst's not there!

People ask why Swift doesn’t have throwing setters. But who wants a dog that plays fetch without them?

Every six months the refrigerator demands a sacrifice of blood and waffles.

Kids these days with their `git merge --squash`… back in my day, we had CVS and smashing pumpkins.

Cuando “multithreading” no sea comprensible, usa “Dispatch ¿Qué?”

I bet the EV Dodge Charger would have sold a lot better if it had V2X. Wouldn’t everybody want to find out how many Dodges can a Dodge Charger charge if a Dodge Charger can charge Dodges?

@numist @Catfish_Man When I type “erasure” I only get 90s Eurodance, but the performance is pretty good.

(But seriously, some isn’t strictly erasure…)

Na na na na na na na na na…

Apparently there was a trademark dispute between a company that makes business collaboration software and one that makes electric toothbrushes. The impressive part: When the latter company lost, they successfully managed an OTA hardware update for their whole fleet — most of their customers just woke up one morning and found our toothbrushes now say “dinb” on the side.

Additional irony: The Al (not Gen Al, but still) in the pull quote having round-tripped from text to screenshot to OCR’d text:

“The irony of an Al reporter being tripped up by Al hallucination is not lost on me.”

(Not lost on me, since my current favorite feed reader from @tg@indieweb.social defaults to an italic serif for block quotes, where the difference between uppercase I and lowercase l couldn’t be more obvious.)

I only recently learned that Jenny Lewis (vocalist in The Postal Service) also played the girl in The Wizard (1989). Now all the (uh, one or two) songs where she’s dumping the naively self-centered narrator make even more sense — such as I remember that movie, I can totally see Fred Savage’s character growing up into the guy Ben Gibbard portrays.

I’m a fan of more (US) Mac keyboards putting glyphs on special keys — not only does it better match the other locales’ keyboards (where English legends made less sense anyway), it makes following the key shortcut mnemonics in menus easier. (What’s ⌘⇥? It’s the keys with those glyphs on them; you don’t have to know that ⇥ means the key that only says “tab”.)

Too bad they didn’t get to ⎋, though — that one has the most obvious mnemonic!
