@treyhunner@mastodon.social Then it is probably beyond their skill sets. It is a great piece of work. Thanks for sharing it.

@treyhunner@mastodon.social, this is fantastic. I played it just now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Is this built with a framework that could be mastered by Python beginners? I teach a beginner Python course to students in a library and information science masters program. They each choose their own final project. This is the kind of learning game that many of them would like to create as their final project. Is it built with tools that a beginner could master at the end of a Python course?

@mahryekuh gridfinity is a real risk. I print my 3D stuff at the library, where I pay a modest charge for the filament used. I try to use the expected charges to offset the seductive call of gridfinity.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Recommending that Santa include an ORDER BY “claus”.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Gives a whole new insight to the term “hard drive”.

@siracusa@mastodon.social Yet, most of us think that Perl is closer to death than Python. One’s perception of age is affected by many things.

@MarkHoltom@mastodonapp.uk Yet another interesting time travel paradox. For me, time travel makes any story more interesting. I will watch period dramas that I would ordinarily hate provided that you throw in some time travel. I have decided that time travel as a story element is “literary bacon”.

@jasongorman@mstdn.business, I agree that the claims of AI productivity improvement for software development are grossly exaggerated. Nevertheless, as a practitioner who has started working with AI tools in a software development workflow, I am fairly confident that these tools will increase productivity to a significant extent at an affordable price point. Perhaps we will only achieve 1.25X (or 1.175X). But my gut feel is that some measurable improvement will be realized.
