Hello, computer.
Leonard Nimoy's Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (aka The One With the Whales!) was released 39 years ago today.
One of the most popular Trek films, the Whale Movie is indeed one of my fav. Fresh, funny, with a fine environmental message, it completes an overall successful trilogy.
RIP Greg Hildebrandt.
The wonderful American artist and his twin brother Tim have produced a wealth of magnificent illustrations for sci-fi and fantasy. Including the classic variant of the Tom Jung Star Wars (1977) poster art.
He was 85.
🚨NEW PROJECT HAIL MARY TRAILER🚨
Yes, I'm very excited because I've been waiting for this adaptation of an excellent sci-fi novel for years. 😁
Only in theaters and IMAX 3.20.26.
Happy N7 Day!
To celebrate Mass Effect, I suggest you read my story of the SSV Normandy SR-1 design. 🫡
Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers was released 28 years ago today.
This is an opportunity to rediscover the film's sublime models:
I rarely make unboxing videos, but the replica I just received is well worth it. 🔥
For 26 years, I've been hoping to get my hands on what is not a spaceship, but nonetheless an iconic sci-fi vehicle: the Nebuchadnezzar from The Matrix/Reloaded. And it's a BIG hovercraft by Master Replicas, with lots of delicate details.
The Invincible, adapted from a 1964 novel by Stanislaw Lem, was released 2 years ago today.
It's one of my favorite 2023 narrative games. Good time on the mysterious planet Regis III.
And I had discussed the game's stunning visuals with the art director:
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Matrix, Master Replicas released a detailed replica of Morpheus' hovercraft, the Nebuchadnezzar, this year.
And it's just a gorgeous sci-fi collectible.
So I not only reviewed the model, but I also told the story behind its design—and it's accessible to everyone.
Self-promotion: If you are passionate about the creation of sci-fi or the behind-the-scenes history of fictional spaceships, for 3 bucks per month (or 30 per year), you will have access to lots of articles on the creation of The Expanse, Star Wars, Alien, Foundation, Mass Effect, Trek, Interstellar, Dune, Avatar, Homeworld, The Matrix, and many more. 🖖

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is 11 this week!
Last year, I published this article about the creation of the fantastic docking scene, thanks to the memories of Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Paul Franklin. 🙏
George Lucas sold Star Wars 13 years ago today, so here is the annual update of my now very long illustrated production timeline of the Disney era. 🖖
Mass Effect is 18 years old, and I've updated this article so you can learn how the design of the SSV Normandy SR-1 was created.
Metroid Prime was released 23 years ago today.
With the fourth installment, Beyond, coming out next month, I've updated the article on the creation of the game's ship with the new layout options from Patreon. (for once, it's a short one 😅)

Here comes my new piece about the art direction of Subnautica. 🌊
Pat Presley (The Clone Wars, Rebel Moon) guides us through the inspirations and ideas behind the different biomes and submarines in the game—including some cool abandoned designs.
To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Star Trek: First Contact, I updated my interview with Alex Jaeger.
"I took it upon myself to do it all: storyboards, ship design, animatics and VFX concepts as well as art directing the model shop builds of the new Enterprise E! It was a trial by fire!"
🚨Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock (2017) is delisted🚨
I'm furious. Starting Nov. 15, this game and all its DLCs will no longer be available for purchase on any platform. If you already own the game, you can continue playing it.
Please don's miss it, it's a great BSG game.
New article on my Patreon: we examine the creation of spaceships for the recent game Command Deck, which brings to life the covers of 1960s and 1970s sci-fi novels illustrated by fantastic artists like Boris Vallejo or John Berkey.
We take a look at the previsualization process for Roland Emmerich's Stargate (1994), and more specifically Peter Rubin's work, in my latest piece on Patreon:
I am gradually updating my articles following a recent update to Patreon.
Here's the first part of my interview with Pat Presley, who worked on The Clone Wars and Rebels before diving into Subnautica. Here, he talks mainly about the design of the Aurora, which crashes at the beginning of the game.
The Diner at the End of the Galaxy is now in Early Access on Steam! At only 10 dollars!
"Diner management, base building and a delicious side of diplomacy and exploration come together in a game where you shape the fate of the galaxy from your very own diner!"
Star Trek Generations was released 28 ago today.
Wait, already 28? That means you're old!
