Letsencrypt is under US jurisdiction. Is there a free-er alternative?
I know that I can simply make my own private certificate authority that only I and my family trust. But is there some public provider like letsencrypt that is in a free-er part of the world than the US?

But yeah, bunch of rich people threw a couple million at him, presumably because he’s a racist and their interests align.
Turns out, being racist is also just a job.

Letsencrypt can be directly forced to revoke certificates by the US. Organisations outside of the US are less vulnerable against that.

Yes, and banks when you wanna activate online banking. Arguably, then it’s just for registering, and logging in then works differently.

Is she a mom? Maybe Facebook has inferred low sexual activity from her browsing habits, and is trying to give her a hint?

As long as there are no content warnings on lemmy, stuff like this should be marked Nsfw.

I see. Well, I think if you could just scan the code from the screen, that probably would open up all kinds of gateways for scammers. On the other hand, faking a physical address is a bit more expensive.

I have that problem with steam sometimes. Some games are rated "overwhelmingly positive", but are aimed at a young adult audience, younger than me. Some games are then also fun for me, others are not. It would be great to know what people of my age think about a game, rather than just its target group.

That’s a very important point to consider. Unless you remove the battery, you shouldn’t use it as a server. If you still do, store it in a metal bowl or so and put it somewhere where the heat of the bowl itself cannot start a fire. And make sure that your smoke detectors are still working and not expired. Then, be aware that if the battery explodes, your apartment fills with biting toxic smoke within minutes, and that can happen in the middle of the night. So keep some clothes ready at the door that you can wear when fleeing the apartment.

I’m currently using reitti, which simply does not deal with the position reported by my phone being noisy. I get all the noise shown on the map. Does Dawarich do any denoising?
