mastodon 4.6.8

Syndicate caring for St Peter's Wood Ringland Norfolk England, national stronghold of endangered Barbastelle bat, under threat from 4 lane road & viaduct project 'Norwich Western Link Road'; in reality the attempted completion of a 3 mile section of 3rd concentric ring road around 1000+year old City of Norwich, the true purpose of which is to demark the next shell/zone for infill for local Tory 'vision' of 'Greater Norwich'. Recent respite in 2025, but threat remains, so we campaign on.

This is not about roads. It is about defining the third shell of new-builds around the City for the developers' "vision" of "Greater Norwich". Acres of charmless estates, ready-blighted by the 24 hour high speed trunk roads from which the salesmen try to hide views of the passing juggernauts behind high fences. Those issuing the contracts, "in the know" & with associates & holdings in the "right" sectors, will grow fat. The Norwich & Norfolk we know & love will be tarmacked over & awash with fluttering HouseBuilder flags, (alongside the Reform St George's flag ghettos). Just say "no".

"[Sue] Gray stands for ethics, public service, and integrity. All three of these qualities are, indeed, baffling and contemptible to hucksters like McSweeney, and the excitable and amoral young men who surround him. For them, politics is a game of intrigue, calculation, and personal advantage". Peter Oborne.

Small cars on woodland tracks risk loss of fanbelt from wind-blown sticks and branches. Speaking from recent experience. AA man said "i happens all the time". He got me home with a ziptie 🤩

The Norfolk Tory Roadies controlling Norfolk County Council now face election in May and know they will be out on their ears, so along comes news they have (gracelessly) abandoned the Wreckage-on-Steriods that was represented by their dual-carriageway-on-viaduct crossing of the Wensum Valley floodplain at Ringland, and in comes early word, still lacking detail, of a modest single-carriage upgrade to existing routes. But even this is all hot air, because #Tories in Norfolk are as irrelevant now as they have proved to be in Gorton and Denton. Off you trot. You were awful.

Suffolk's finest, and another reason why Norfolk doesn't wish to be rolled into a central-controllable mega-mayoralty with the Folk of the South. You listening Rayner? #Truss
