Well, I have just sweltered through the hottest October day on record, 34oC. That motivated me to write a letter to Reece Whitby to tell him to reject Woodside's NWS gas processing extension to 2070.
You can sign a petition to stop it here.

The WA government also has its climate change policy up for public comment for just another 24 hours.

https://consult.dwer.wa.gov.au/climatechange/ba656431/consultation/intro/

Trying to sneak it through while everyone was distracted by the referendum and other things.

It's looking like it's going to be a rough Summer, lets fight to stop it from getting worse!

As someone "working" in the climate activism space, it's incredibly frustrating seeing fossil gas companies talking about supplying clean energy. When they are supplying gas, which is literally a greenhouse gas. That would be predictable propaganda if I didn't constantly find that my politicians repeat it in their speeches.

Take a look at this speech from earlier this year by Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King

https://www.minister.industry.gov.au/.../speech-powering...

Was it written by a Gas industry spokesperson? is Minister King one?

It isn't any better at the State Level. With the recent actions by Disrupt Burrup Hub, we have seen Premier Cook display a shocking lack of understanding about how the Gas industry is driving climate change and what climate activists are actually asking for.
Didn't anyone find it strange that they both just casually called Meg O'Neil to express sympathies? They have sympathies with Meg because they are effectively colleagues, they have a personal relationship they move in the same circles. Did they personally call the people of the Fitzroy River Basin to personally give their sympathies when climate change-fuelled rains washed their houses away?

Our First Nations brothers and Sisters have taken a break from social media to mourn the failure of the Voice Referendum. So I'll put in my opinion.

I have heard some reluctant Yes voters and the progressive No say that the voice was a compromise and a way to make white people feel good about themselves. I think it was an offramp.

The Voice was a way to recognise that the past was bad but then quickly move forward. The Yes campaign's focus on the future reflected that.

But they were too optimistic about how much Truth, Australians knew or cared. Too many Australians were not ready to face our history. As the campaign went on Yes was pulled into talking more Truth and was then called a divisive and dredging up history.

I have news for No Voters we are a divided country and always have been.

Going forward we will see a commitment to vicious Truth telling until the myths Australians tell themselves are shattered and the full wieght of the sins of the past are laid bare.

There is a reason the Uluru Statement was Truth Treaty Voice in that order and we have to go back to Truth.

The W.A. Climate Change Minister Reece Whitby will soon decide whether to accept the EPA recommendation to allow Woodside Energy to continue to use their Gas Plant, on the culturally significant Burrup Peninsula, until 2070! Long after the world must have stopped using Gas.

Sign the petition to send him a message.

Here is my latest book review of climate activism books.

I had been avoiding this one because its name made me too paranoid to google its name.

Here is my latest video about how things, at least technologically, are going quite well in our battle to save civilisation from climate change.

@pb_gamble The issue is that even if they were illegal they would still attend the same parties they would still have heavy lobbying and they would still be a revolving door between politics and the boardroom

@paul@mstdn.dsnv.net China will also start to go into decline in about a decade unless it benefits from the technological advantages of Green Tech.

China is suffering from extreme climate change like every where else.
