AI's aren't sentient. They can't "steal."
Programmers and institutions select the data with which to train the model. They take art and writing from artists and authors without credit or payment. The software then remixes and mimics what it is given.
Displacing agency by attributing intent to the AI is exactly how people and institutions erase human action in the creation of technology. It also leads to further perceptions of technology as acultural, unbiased, and, in essence, magical.
Civility is not care, but it pretends to be; civility is the affective shape of administrative violence.

The Real Black Friday.
Tyranny endures, it calmly waits.
In veiled rhetoric and seething states.
It will come again, it's all arranged.
That's how it goes, when nothing's changed.
And welcome back to my podcast, "Now Where Did **That** Bruise Come From?" Episode 268. Today we'll be discussing this really odd, dark purple, mark on the inside of my right arm.....

Wonder is an 'undoing' of all that we experience. All that we know is suspended in service to a brief moment wherein all that we will never know becomes possible. And both fear and fascination tumble through on their way to a rebirth in the stars.
