Here is an experiment I always do with my books, including the new one. I ordered my own new book through @princetonupress@mastodon.social , Amazon, and Barnes and Nobles to see which one would start shipping first. Princeton shipped two weeks ago. B&N two days ago, Amazon sticks to the pub date schedule. If anyone is interested in actually buying the book use Princeton press website and get 30% off the print edition with TET30 discount code and audiobook edition PUP30 (the audiobook will be released in May)

@joyce@hcommons.social I would recommend the chapter by Ivan Marcus in a book titled "Cultures of the Jews" edited by David Biale: Marcus, Ivan G. @CitizenWald@historians.social The funny thing about the flag day is that it was recently instituted to give people a longer time off. May 1 used to be a holiday in communist Poland, then after communism May 3 became the "Constitution Day" and a holiday. So May 2 came as a flag day to add patriotism to the long weekend.
@CitizenWald@historians.social How come I did not know he was buried in Georgia? I guess when we studied about him in school in Poland I did not know where Georgia was and never thought about him again, except when cycling across the Pulaski bridge in Long Island City/Greenpoint 😅
@CitizenWald@historians.social Yes, it was an honor and a great occasion to think in a new way about the material I have come to know so well! And it was the last time she attended.
