This is the official account for the Mouse Genome Informatics knowledgebases. MGI integrates genetic, genomic and biological data for the mouse and makes this integrated data freely available through the website, MouseMine, and downloads. #introduction #Databases
Mouse Genome Informatics
MGI is the international database resource for the laboratory mouse, providing integrated genetic, genomic, and biological data to facilitate the study of human health and disease.
Together with @DOdiseaseontology@genomic.social we are planning a workshop on the intersection of biocuration and machine learning for the 2023 #Biocuration meeting in Padua, Italy. If you have attempted to use machine learning to improve curation workflows we would like to hear from you https://forms.gle/tnQeraDhxALdfz51A If you plan to be at Biocuration 2023 and are interested in being on the panel please let us know.
The first Mammalian Phenotype release with the new international pipeline is now out. Thanks to help from Nico Matentzoglu to set up the build pipeline and Terue Takatsuki and the team at RIKEN we now have Japanese translations of MP term labels in the international version of the MP. https://github.com/mgijax/mammalian-phenotype-ontology/releases/tag/v2023-10-31 #bioinformatics #ontology
A new MP release will be out on Monday (Sept. 18) on the MGI FTP site. This update obsoletes the term 'no phenotypic analysis'.
New MP releases out in May included updates to the cellular phenotype branch to improve organization of intracellular organelle terms. New terms were also added for tumor-free survival time. https://www.informatics.jax.org/downloads/reports/index.html#pheno
Recordings of the Biocuration and Machine Learning workshop from the #Biocuration2023 conference are now up https://www.youtube.com/c/DiseaseontologyOrgDOID
We're planning a second virtual workshop in September. Let us know if you have suggestions for topics or panelists.
New MP release out this week (https://www.informatics.jax.org/downloads/reports/MPheno_OBO.ontology). Updates include expansion of anatomy cross-references in the respiratory and reproductive systems.
There is a new Mammalian Phenotype ontology release out this week https://www.informatics.jax.org/downloads/reports/index.html#pheno. We've continued to enrich the anatomy cross-references and have made the switch to Protege 5.6.1 for development.
SNP coordinates have made the move to mouse build GRCm39 and the MGI SNP search form is back in operation http://www.informatics.jax.org/snp
MGI has a new release out this week. This includes a new GXD Expression Profile Search, a tool to search for genes by their expression profile. It allows users to define the expression profile of interest by specifying up to 10 anatomical structures and whether expression is present or absent in these structures. It can be found as a tab on the Gene Expression Data Query: http://www.informatics.jax.org/gxd/profile
