I've been off caffeine for months now, but I had such garbage sleep last night that I decided to have a cup of coffee in the morning to wake up. An act of complete desperation, just pouring the coffee left from yesterday morning into a mug and tossing it in the microwave.

So one thing people never ask me about but I'm talking about anyway is "JunkRaven, how do you do the thing (you know, the thing)?" Like they can't imagine what my anatomy must be like given, you know, robot parts.

Everyone just assumes that I have some parts salvaged off a non-sentient pleasure android or something. They have mostly surface-level matching anatomy to humans, right? But you know what? Those parts suck. The reason they're in the scrapyard is because they never last. Pleasure-bot companies are really big on the whole planned obsolescence stuff. On top of that, non-sentient pleasure-bots don't typically "experience" anything, so rather than a complex series of artificial nerve fibers like you'd expect, it's really just like a single boolean sensor value. Maybe up to 128 bits of data on the fancy ones.

No, what you really need is something like a synth-nerve-enabled prosthetic built for humans. Problem with those is that they're all custom-built and (thankfully) rarely found in the scrapyards.

So if you really want to do the thing, you have to forge a prescription using a made-up nerve mapping, guessing based on what emulated neural inputs you might have available on your chassis, scam one of those companies into sending you a test model or print specs, and then try to figure out how to map those nerve inputs to your actual sensor input pins.

Anyway, this is why coffee tastes the same as popcorn to me, and milk is spicy.
