Dr Julie Le Blanc

It's the 1st of November and that means #Nanowrimo is upon us! Break a leg to all my fellow Wrimos out there 📚 Here's to a great month of writing! :)

My #shortstory "Gently Smiling Jaws" has been published in Ember: A Journal of Luminous Things! 🕯️

Thank you to everyone on the Ember team for giving Blanche and Albie a little corner of the internet to live in.

"Blanche had been taking her dogs to the dog park for as long as she could remember. Her favourite was the one near the East Bridge, beside that new quirky café.

But Albert. What was she to do with Albert?"

"The coyote follows Ana and her baby from inside a shroud of dust, swallowing the distance between them down into his empty belly." 🐺

Equal parts unsettling and beautiful -- absolutely adored "The Warriors, The Mothers, The Drowned" by Kay Chronister on @bcsmagazine@mastodon.social

Project for Awesome (P4A) Charity livestream starts today at 5pm GMT! raising money for Save the Children, Partners in Health, and charities voted on by fellow nerdfighters 🥳

My portal #fantasy #shortstory "Craft Your Own Adventure" (originally published in Paper Lanterns in 2021) has found its latest home, reprinted in Cast of Wonders! Genuinely blown away by and grateful for narrator Louise Ratcliffe 😍

"While Marya was usually excellent at imagining the worst, opening a portal to another world while crocheting had never really crossed her mind."
