Yesterday we had our annual tea party event at the #LeMayFamilyCollection at #LeMayMarymount. Always a fun event. We decorate a table ourselves. I think the theme of the table is pretty obvious… 😃

Arriving 1 hour and 15 minutes late in Vancouver, B.C. Just south of Vancouver is a draw bridge and there’s only 1 way in, but 5 ways out… a freight train was interfering. So, we had to wait quite some time.
But then took the SkyTrain to Burrard station. Had to do what I needed to do, celebrated #TuesdayTradition at the local Starbucks and back to Burrard station and Pacific Central Station. On the Amtrak and back home…

Today was a day to bake #bread. The granddaughter really wanted a homemade bread too. So, made two Italian herb breads and since it’s almost #StPatricksDay I made another #IrishSodaBread. Last one has currents, raisins and golden raisins.

Yesterday we went to the #MuseumOfGlass in #Tacoma with two #ExchangeStudents and the granddaughter. The youngsters created their own art in the #HotShop. It's a very nice museum and the #HotShop is a great experience.

This will be my 500th post here on Mastedon. Who would thought of that! 😃 What better way to celebrate this with a video of the grandchild at her horse riding lessons. Just love to see her riding like this!

When in #VancouverBC it is only a short trip to #NewWestminster to visit the #HollandShoppingCentre for some #Dutch goodies. Like #kaas aka cheese, but then real cheese. Not the ultra processed cheese you find south of the Canadian border.

A view of Mt. Rainier but different than usual…

Last night’s return trip from Vancouver B.C., was better than going there. The Amtrak train even left the station 15 minutes too early (how can they do that?!!). The weather was nice and had some good views on the ride home.
It surprised me that most of the route was along the coastline. In these days of high speed trains, I think Amtrak is still 100 (or more) years away from modern train traveling. It’s a nice alternative for a car, but take your time and don’t be in a hurry when traveling with Amtrak. It really still is in the early 1900s… However, it was nice to use public transportation to go up and down to Vancouver B.C. in one day.
