(and really need to go back to the gym now i'm retired) One thing I did on the trainer's advice was to eliminate beer. It was just a bad habit, and I was drinking a 6pack every day or two. And yeah, I missed it at first, I'd wistfully pause at the beer shelf in the grocery store. One benefit of it was that I lost about 10 or 15 pounds without changing anything else about my diet. Looking back, it seems like it was easy, but I know it wasn't.
