I feel like we should reintroduce universe alteration into fandom circulation as a term, because all too often i see people calling things that directly contradict canon headcanons and that ain't how it works!! You're pretty much making a mini AU which is what the UA term is for, everyone wins! Just because headcanon has the word "canon" in it doesn't mean it makes anything more "real" 😭 All of these terms like headcanon, AU and UA fall under the "transformative works" umbrella, we're all playing toys in the sandbox, it's fine!!
