Cultivated meat is accused of being “made from cancer cells”. But animals farmed for food get tumours too, and slaughterhouses have rules for cutting them out. If flesh is what scares you, there is another option: eat plants.

Humans brought rabbits to Australia. Humans released them. Humans transformed the landscape. Now rabbits are poisoned, shot, fumigated and infected with viruses for a crisis they did not create.

When people say "I don't want to be a vegan and that's ok" - they have no idea what they're saying, you couldn't replace the word vegan with any other social justice movement and not sound a total scumbag for saying you don't care about it.
They actually think it's a diet.

There is no safe level of exposure to a known carcinogen, not when we are talking about an extremely optional activity. If a product increases cancer risk, the question isn’t how much we allow.
It’s why we allow it at all.

Did you know that down, the cosy feathers next to birds' skin, is sometimes used for clothes and bedding? These feathers may be violently ripped from the bodies of ducks & geese while they’re still alive - ALWAYS choose vegan materials 🪿

The Guardian asks whether animal-free leather is really better for the environment. But its answer slips from scrutiny into a defence of animal skin, ending with “humane” cattle and supposedly “good leather” 😒

Chicken has had a golden health halo for decades, gobbled down by people who think swapping beef for birds is some kind of upgrade. But new research just blew that halo to pieces, and it should force us to ask: why are we still eating animals at all?

Another Mallorcan town is preparing to get horses off its tourist carriages.
Muro Town Hall and local carriage drivers have now been presented with an electric replacement, with the new vehicles expected to take over from horse-drawn carriages in Playa de Muro from next year if final approval is granted. Muro would follow Alcúdia, where electric carriages were introduced in 2025.

Not knowing something is not the same as doing wrong. Intelligence does not equal virtue, and ignorance does not equal vice. When we conflate the two, we harm those already at the margins and empower those who cloak cruelty in cleverness.

Something important has changed in Palma. The city's carriage drivers have unveiled the final design of the electric carriage intended to replace horses, with the first vehicles planned for 2027. And more than half of Palma's carriage drivers reportedly want to make the switch.
The €45,000 electric carriage will now be presented to Palma City Council for approval, while regulations governing the service will need to be changed.
