The Grouchybeast

@davidgerard The otherwise great paper on LLMs hallucinating images in image analysis benchmarking made me facepalm when they used ChatGPT to assess some of the output. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? LLMS MAKE THINGS UP WHEN ASKED TO ANALYSE DATA! THAT IS LITERALLY THE ENTIRE THESIS OF YOUR PAPER!

@cstross Her "Not involved in human trafficking" press conference certainly does have people asking a lot of questions already answered by her press conference.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run Lots of people talking about Anthropic signing a contract to pay $1.5 billion per month to use xAI data centres until 2029, handily making xAI profitable. Interesting! So I hunted around to find the source. 'Either Anthropic or SpaceX can terminate the agreements with 90 days' notice, and fees would be reduced during the capacity ramp-up this month and next' So...they're paying less than that until the IPO happens, and they can cancel it at will. Hmm. https://www.reuters.com/business/anthropic-nears-first-quarterly-profit-agrees-pay-spacex-125-billion-monthly-2026-05-21/
