You’re offering a podcast in your post. Just post the rss feed url. Your link goes to a page that immediately asks for my email address. That’s going to turn off a lot of first time visitors. Trying to find the rss link was not easy.

All California hospitals went back to mandatory masking for all staff, patients, and visitors this flu season.
@Free_Press@mstdn.social NYT just NOW noticed his coziness with Putin? Most of us figured it out before the 2016 election!
This is my daily reminder about why I cancelled all my NYT-owned subscriptions. They can’t be trusted… except to normalize a dictator.
@jamesthomson@mastodon.social I was wondering the same thing.

I’d be fine if he dropped a few more f-bombs now and then.

re: AirPods Pro 3 fit being different from previous generations.
With previous APP, I had always used the smaller ear tip on the right side as it seemed to fit better that way. I started off using the size “S” ear tip on the right again with the APP3, but it never felt right. No pain, but it never seemed securely in place. Switching to size “XS” only made it worse.
I decided to go back to regular size for both ear tips, and that actually ended up working best.

I transferred my iPhone 15 pro to my new 17 pro using home WiFi (not hotel). It took less than one hour to get a usable new phone, including cell service transfer and Apple Watch transfer. The remainder of the apps took another 30 minutes to download. The whole experience was completely smooth and fast. I don’t understand the extensive discussions about transfer procedures.

And many Americans speak English passably well. That doesn’t make us English, though the English may have thought so at one time.

Disgusting.

No more than a bodega owner is a Mafia supporter for paying protection money. If every other business in the neighborhood is paying the Mafia, you’d better do so too…

The evolutionary advantage is that singletons don’t drive their parents insane… as much.

I’m with you. I’ve loved this season. Ever since mtv, people have become more and more impatient with pacing of tv/film. Everything has to happen NOW NOW NOW. we’ve forgotten how to just enjoy the journey in our rush to get to the ending.

Born and raised in America, I too have a near religious belief in the ideals of democracy. However, this election result has made me consider whether democracy is by design less long-lived than monarchy and autocracies.
Rule by fiat/power can indefinitely survive by doubling down on what they are. Most of the longest-lived cultures were run by monarchy/familal right or brute force. By contrast, democracy can be defeated by the very traits that define it—the openness to change and opinion of the populace. It only takes one trip up, the election of one autocrat, to destroy democracy. Once lost, it’s very hard to go back.
Germany went back to democracy after they voted their autocrat into power, but not until the violent loss of tens of millions of lives and unspeakable atrocities, the near destruction of their society, and a determined effort by the free world to build it back democratically.
What fate awaits us Americans?

That’s some high drama to open the World Series with!
