@ninapaley@spinster.xyz I've been tempted by one ever since I heard you can re-do shop bought ice cream in it.
There's a shop here that sells very good and affordable vanilla ice cream, but it's just plain. I'm thinking I could melt that, mix in a whole host of stuff like biscuits, berries, whatever, and then refreeze it in the machine.
Himself likes Ben&Jerry's, but complains they don't sell any of the interesting flavours here. I on the other hand, find their ice cream base bland and boring. But with our own machine, maybe we could make something better, which we both like...
But so far I've been held back by the "another appliance to take up space" issue...
I produce in the kitchen are so good I feel sorry for the rest of the world for not getting to enjoy it.
I get this nearly every time I bake a cake... But that's because I tend to be liberal with all the good stuff. And I have good recipes.

@ninapaley@spinster.xyz Because he thinks you're as fragile as his "wife", and will crumble to dust psychologically if you discover someone thinking mean things about you. Never mind saying mean things about you.
(Oh CRAP. I forgot about the privacy settings AGAIN.)
France, you need to do better.
And every country needs to drop laws criminalising insults and "hate" speech.

🚨 We're facing ONE YEAR in prison and a €45,000 fine for criticizing trans ideology.
Dear English-speaking followers,
For the past six years, @doramoutot@bird.makeup and I have been speaking out against the excesses of trans ideology. We've published a best-seller (Transmania), run a YouTube channel, and appeared repeatedly in the media to defend our positions.
We now face up to a year in prison and a €45,000 fine, simply for saying that trans-identifying men don't belong in women's spaces, and that some of them struggle with mental health issues.
This isn't an abstract threat; Dora has already been convicted for saying much the same thing. We need your help to fund our legal defense.

@flick@spinster.club It is weird. It has been consistent for a long time, not sure if all along.
I just spotted it at some point when I was wondering why a repost didn't get the attention I thought it might from the usual suspects.
To be honest I thought it was just another stupid programming decision...

@flick@spinster.club If I make a quote post (I don't like to just repost) the default setting for the post is always "unlisted".
I keep forgetting to switch that to "public".
Replying to
@flick@spinster.club Oh no, it's been going on for yonks.
In fact the reason I'm now forgetting to change the setting is because I was gone for a month, before my holiday I just routinely checked it every time I did a quote poste.
