No 120: Odyssey of Noise Vol. IV by Occams Laser
Ditto for the last one, although I seem to have listened to these albums in the wrong order. Oops.
I don't think there's a huge difference between these two albums but this one I feel has a bit more to it. The soundscapes just seem a bit fuller, I think maybe because there's more discernable guitar? It's a nice listen.
No 121: Can We Hang Out Sometime? by Good Kid
I get a kind of Porter Robinson vibe from this album minus the synth. It's got very young energy which my old arse considers a kind of fond reminiscence. It keeps up, there's no late-album lull, it's just upbeat and peppy the whole way through.
NGL I've been watching this on repeat as some kind of motivational pickup

No 118: Different Animals by Volumes
Was having a listen to this on the way back home from Edinburgh this weekend. I must admit, much as the sound and the album is neat (and I need to be in the mood for it) I rarely find standout tracks in metalcore that makes me want to keep listening more—I suppose that wasn't the point of this, the point was albums, but normally I find a good hook that lets me return to an album. Iunno, nothing has yet topped 'Bad Habit' from Mirror Image for me yet.
Had a weird #EdFringe but I'm going out on a high.
Our last show was fantastic, the audience were super engaged, and three of them in particular were cute and joined me for a drink afterwards :3
Also if you get chance to see The Mothman Cometh: do! It's wholesome, moving and absolutely brilliant!

According the lion scale of weird music, this is at a 9/10; so I expected to find it super weird, and it is, but it's also a fun listen that probes a lot of different feelings. I don't entirely know why the tracks are named after numbers in seemingly a random order; I suspect if I ever found out why it would unlock the final mystery and I would ascend to level 2.

Metal meets chip tune should be up my street but I can't get over the goblin-esque screamo. It's like... Ear sandpaper.
No 119: Odyssey of Noise Vol. V by Occams Laser
Occams Laser is a very competent synthwave artist, I find it hard to find highlights in their work but it's all a good standard. There's obvious video game influences in the music and it's lovely to listen to but I rarely feel that euphoric sense of grandeur I get from the likes of MBR or Carpenter Brut.
