@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social that image triggered a memory. Back in the early '80s the place I worked had little paper signs all over the restrooms that said "please remember to wash your hands". Working late one night I got the crazy idea to print new signs that said "please remember to watch your hams". I changed every sign and every restroom. It was that way for 3 or 4 weeks before someone came up to me and started yelling. To this day any joke about ham and I'm rolling on the floor laughing thinking about those signs

@josephcox@infosec.exchange that tracks with my experience. At first I was amazed. When a project is in the "green field" state it paved over it with the foundation code really fast. Then reality sets in. It pushes the code in a direction that is off. It becomes a headwind.

I asked a TA who the woman was and they said with a chuckle "that's his daughter". Imagine my surprise years later when I saw a video on the history of that photo.
