A long time ago, in a galaxy right here, I did a Ph.D. at Penn, studying lots of things (I once knew the country of tradition for the notches in log cabin construction, but that's another story). Mostly studied writers and readers and the worlds they create between them. Now, I'm an arts writer, fiction writer (contemporary fantasy, and epic fantasy as Curt Benjamin).
Photography is art. Mad for dance--all kinds of dance! Go Phillies! Go Union! Profile photo is Wissahickon Creek
Looking forward to Fringe Festival in September. The great companies during the season are wonderful, and I love them. But Fringe is an adventure. There are so many good performers out there taking risks and making art. Sometimes the idea doesn't quite make it onto the stage, but sometimes you walk away feeling like you've had a profound experience, made a connection with the artist. Here are the shows with dance I am looking forward to:
The Philadelphia Ballet's Merry Widow was such a break from real life. Funny and elegant.
