Crested Barbets roost in holes in trees. They are very vocal, the call being a trill that can continue for long periods. Crested Barbets are aggressive towards other birds in their territory and chase off both nest competitors such as other Barbets and other birds such as doves and thrushes

The obsession with turning game parks into "Big Five" tourist attractions causes significant ecosystem damage, primarily through overstocking unnatural species mixes, severe habitat fragmentation from fences, and soil and water degradation.

I leave my pot outside and these guys clean it for me. I see that some people are horrified, say the normal kak about rabies carriers etc. Done it my whole life, never been sick from it.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I watched this developing and KNEW that "they" would come here to my country. Yesterday I read that they are negotiating to build one in Cape Town. Our government is extremely corrupt . And since they took my country (ANC) in 1994, no maintenance of, well everything, has been done. Cape Town has not got...water for the people..... ja.
