If someone says it’s raining and someone else says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote both of them; it’s your job to look out the fucking window and work out which one is true.

Especially tonight, my favourite Douglas Adam’s quote which I shall butcher here: “You’re alive!” “Yes, the amount of agonising pain I’m in would suggest that.”

I struggle with FaceID on iOS recognizing me with my glasses off - alas old age means I have to take them off to read on the phone. I just had the idea that I can train on no glasses as an alternative appearance. Delighted to say the phone told me i had to wait an hour because I’m at my local coffee shop and not at home or work!

Long standing intermittent Apple Maps bug has driven me back into Waze’s arms. In essence: when I tell it via Siri/shortcuts to navigate to my pre-defined Home or Work addresses, it searches on the text of the stored address and tries to take me there. And of course modern GPS regularly redirects you to alternate routes because of issues ahead, so it takes forever to notice.

Bing searches from the address bar appear to have stopped working. Looks to be the back end, as it fails whatever network or even browser is used.
Weirdest thing to me is that twitter isn’t on fire about it. I know edge only has a 5% market share but that’s 5% of a big number.

My vote for stupidest Siri bug is that if you ask it for directions to “home” or “work”, it will search the nearby area for the house number and street, and if it finds a match will give you directions to get there.

This film has a better twist than Sixth Sense, IMHO, because it’s not revealed at any point - you just have to come to it in your own time.

I’ve been liking my new Tombow airpress pen. Latest discovery - the clip works great for a hipster PDA. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hipster_PDA https://www.tombow.com/en/products/airpress/
