I originally started filming Utrecht because of its cycling infrastructure. Looking back over seventeen years of footage, I realised I have documented something much bigger: the transformation of an entire city.

A long-awaited bicycle parking garage has opened in 's-Hertogenbosch, last Monday.
Space for 1,000 bicycles in the former hospital area, with two-tier racks, a gentle ramp and even a bicycle lift.

A new bridge in Helsinki left me unexpectedly out of breath. Was it me, or was the bridge really steeper than the ones I'm used to in the Netherlands?

I cycled a street that lies in two countries — German cycle paths on one side, Dutch on the other. A border once marked by barbed wire is now deliberately invisible. A new post, with two videos.
I recently rode the nearly finished F270 between Helmond and Eindhoven — a route my family once cycled daily to work in the 1950s.
This route is finally taking shape as a continuous cycle route.

A replacement bridge for cycling and walking was put in place last week in ’s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands). It arrived by road: transporting the 43 m-long deck required temporary road closures and the removal of traffic signs and signals.
I always like showing a real ride: one where I go from A to B for a reason. This time I filmed a ride to a hospital in Utrecht last February—a straightforward trip, quite typical for the Netherlands. Come along for the relaxing journey.

...it was still there! Unlocked, right where I left it in the largest bicycle parking in the world.
