Five years ago, on January 6, 2021, electoral justice protestors were invited into the Capitol building by the police. This turned into a trap with the declaration of an unlawful assembly and the execution of one protestor, Ashli Babbitt, and the arrest and brutalization of many others. What followed were years of nationwide witch hunts and paranoia in which security forces and their accomplices in the general public used an unprecedented mobilization of manpower and resources in order to repress thousands of Americans for their free expression.
One such American was Christian Secor. Arrested by the FBI a month after the protest, he was swiftly sentenced to prison. While in prison, he wrote "The American Regime"—a book that analyzes how power in America functions and who holds it—and published with us anonymously. This quote in memory of Degrelle is preserved in our book "Léon Degrelle in Exile, 1945-1994" by Spanish historian José Luís Jerez Riesco, who met Degrelle personally. Jerez Riesco records:
"On March 31st, 1994, Holy Thursday, at 11:10 p.m. at night, with echoes of the Passion procession made by the Malagueña Brotherhood on calle Larios wafting through the window of room number 225, next to the city’s cathedral, Léon Degrelle serenely gave up his soul to God. Like a warrior-monk, he was able to say, “Mission fulfilled, O Lord” or perhaps he was singing Non nobis Domine."
As a journalist, politician, SS warrior, author of numerous books, and post-war nationalist beacon, Degrelle was a lifelong activist for the cause of the European race. His life was filled with both adventure and trial, and his works such as "The Burning Souls" attest to the depth of his conviction and willingness to offer his whole life in service or sacrifice to his people.
May his memory inspire many more to walk in his footsteps.

Ramiro Ledesma Ramos was a prominent Spanish political activist, writer, journalist, philosopher, revolutionist, and martyr. Greatly influential not just in the development of Spanish nationalism before the civil war, but also how it was expressed afterward under Franco’s government, he is known for designing the yoke-and-arrows symbol of the Falange Española (Spanish Phalanx), as well as being the chief architect of the ideological bridge between nationalism and syndicalism which made the success of the Falange possible.
Bold and brash, Ledesma’s scathing writings in his short-lived newspaper La Conquista del Estado (The Conquest of the State) added fire to the already simmering cauldron of the Spanish Second Republic, advocating for radical solutions to the systematic problems plaguing the national political landscape. Despite being shut down by the Republic less than a year after the release of its first issue, La Conquista del Estado proved to be a seminal paper which contributed substantively to the development of Spanish nationalism and showcases the intellectual origins of Franco’s Spain.

Ramiro Ledesma Ramos was a prominent Spanish political activist, writer, journalist, philosopher, revolutionist, and martyr. Greatly influential not just in the development of Spanish nationalism before the civil war, but also how it was expressed afterward under Franco’s government, he is known for designing the yoke-and-arrows symbol of the Falange Española (Spanish Phalanx), as well as being the chief architect of the ideological bridge between nationalism and syndicalism which made the success of the Falange possible.
Bold and brash, Ledesma’s scathing writings in his short-lived newspaper La Conquista del Estado (The Conquest of the State) added fire to the already simmering cauldron of the Spanish Second Republic, advocating for radical solutions to the systematic problems plaguing the national political landscape. Despite being shut down by the Republic less than a year after the release of its first issue, La Conquista del Estado proved to be a seminal paper which contributed substantively to the development of Spanish nationalism and showcases the intellectual origins of Franco’s Spain.

Nuremberg has served for centuries as a hub of political life in Germany. In the day of the Holy Roman Empire, Nuremberg boasted the high status of a Free Imperial City and hosted several important Imperial Diets, or Reichstage. The National Socialists framed themselves and their new Germany as the inheritors and successors of Germany’s rich political and cultural history stretching back to this first Empire, in which Nuremberg’s magnificent medieval old town stood out as an important symbol.
