Today, I attended the graduation ceremony of 230 medical students from the Faculty of Medicine in Gaza. They graduated under extremely difficult conditions, amidst war and destruction. Yet, I say to the world from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza we love life and we always strive to be the best.

We are still suffering in Gaza. Although the war has stopped, we are still dealing with difficult and complex cases that require urgent medical care. Yesterday was an extremely exhausting day. We dealt with over 600 to 800 cases in Alshifa hospital. A little girl told me, ‘Doctor, don't treat me, I want to die, I'm hungry, and my mother told me there is food in heaven. I couldn't bear her words, I hope if I've anything to give her but I'm also very hungry and my family is hungry we can't find find food. Where are the lovers of justice and the supporters of Palestine?

How is it possible that we're in the 21st century with human, children rights and even animal rights ,and yet we still suffer from hunger and thirst
Look at our pictures in Gaza hospitals. Patients in huge numbers. There is no bed or medication. I, as a volunteer doctor in Al-Shifa Hospital, send an urgent appeal to the world. Give us a helping hand. We want your help, even if it is a little. Our food is only for the rich. Food is very expensive we are hungry help us to survive and continue.

Despite the extreme fatigue and exhaustion from long working hours at Al-Shifa Hospital, cases like this offer us some respite. This is an X-ray of a 4-year-old girl who fell down the stairs, resulting in a fracture of both forearm bones. I performed a non-surgical reduction of the two bones and applied a posterior splint. You can see the before and after reduction. She has now returned home and is being closely monitored at the outpatient clinic.
