Open post 3eyedcrow @3eyedcrow@northofthewall.social · 31mo ago Replying to @chaoticneutral@dice.camp <p>Seeing posts from <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/ttrpg" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ttrpg</span></a> and <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/DnD" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DnD</span></a> influencers about a 50th anniversary gift pack sent to them by WotC, and it appears to be a wine bucket and accessories.</p><p>Not trying to stir things up, but this sort of suggests to me that D&D as a game is no longer interested in capturing the age 12-16 demographic, which is where many (most?) of us old-schoolers started. Everything about the game now seems to cater to those 20+ with plenty of disposable income.</p><p>IMHO, this is a mistake, and makes me a bit sad.</p> @chaoticneutral@dice.camp It's probably smart in the short term, extracting money out of people who actually have it, but dumb in the long term, growing your base. Also, I threw up in my mouth when you said "DnD influencer".
