@tindie@hackaday.social I don't understand the astounding lack of transparency here. This is a company handling money, yet all requests to know *who* is involved have been ignored. If I ever choose to buy products through Tindie again (which is becoming less likely by the day), it definitely won't be before we have a full story on the situation. Who are these new owners? Why did the site go down as soon as they acquired Tindie? Why has this been the *only* source of information, as opposed to emails?

@tindie@hackaday.social I'm referring to this post: https://hackaday.social/@tindie/116420722551725518 It's at least strongly implied, if not outright stated, that the downtime was caused by scheduled maintenance. The text on the website also explicitly stated that the site was unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

@tindie@hackaday.social I'm happy that an email was finally sent out last night with more information. Looks like the new on-paper owner is a shell/branch of https://www.eetree.cn/ Much less trust would have been lost if this email was sent out two weeks ago, instead of the insistence that it was just scheduled downtime. I still have lots of concerns, including about how data is being handled, and why the site went down in the first place.
