It took a ton of work but we got our city to end the contract with #Flock, one of the creepiest and most dishonest #surveillance companies, on Wednesday!

If you're working on something of this sort, you can DM if you need more info.

One of the biggest obstacles was the threat of actually good programs being de-funded because of the way Hochul/ NYS bundles mass surveillance with other programs in grant allocations.

This threat ended up not being real, but it almost torpedoed the whole thing last minute.

Strategic achievements of the United States during the war on Iran:
- Bombed civilian infrastructure (committed war crimes)
- Closed the Straight of Hormuz
- Caused enormous global economic pain, including for voting US citizens and residents
- Alienated the US from allies
- Established that the US can't be trusted with any diplomatic promises, just like the terroristic state of Israel
- Showed the world that the US is great at losing wars, expensively
- Humiliated Knockoff Mussolini and his regime, and the entire United States
- Got a lot of people killed while failing to get people to forget about the Epstein Files

There's been a number of recent announcements by Microsoft indicating that it will allow its customers to have more control of their own tech, but this is still a company that creates absolutely shit technology with an unwavering anti-consent business ethos at its core.

The opposite of consent is tech company.

Most of the US landmass is covered by co-op utilities that member-owners can get involved in.

As the feds double down on the ideological commitment to expensive, inefficient, toxic energy, rural residents can use their power to supercharge the #Energy transition.

This free series is with an org I work for, and helps #Rural folks gain the knowledge they need to engage with co-op utilities.
