📰 America’s Biggest Irrigated Crop Is Lawn Grass 😬

🌎 U.S.: With 40+ million acres of turf blanketing the country, experts warn that our yards have become ecological dead zones, in the midst of rapid insect and bird population declines.

🦋 Native plants otoh feed caterpillars, support specialist insects, and rebuild the energy pathways that lawns erase.

👉 Dedicate just a corner of your yard to natives and restore the wildlife pantry.
A single oak, a viburnum, or a patch of goldenrod and coneflower can jump‑start a functioning food web right outside your door.
