Argentina se ofendió con retroactividad con Uruguay porque se enteraron ahora que todos los años hay un stand de las Islas Falkland en la rural del prado. La posición historica de Uruguay siempre fue que Las Malvinas son Argentinas. La rural del prado es un evento privado organizado por la Asociación Rural, la asociación de ricos estancieros, no representan al pueblo. Me dolió un toque todos los periodistas argentinos (todos hombres) diciendo que la ciudad más importante de Uruguay es Punta del Este y la mantienen ellos, que en el futbol nunca ganamos nada y por eso permitimos el stand ese, y permitimos que un barco salga todos los meses con provisiones, etc. Tan meando fuera del tarro #argentina #malvinas #uruguay #kelpers #ruraldelprado

I know the narrative, but still don't grok the deep Argentinian obsession with the Falklands/Malvinas: they have never been governed by Argentina, there was no indigenous population at the time of European contact, and in the last referendum, 99.8% of the population voted that they didn't want to join Argentina. Let's be honest: given its colonial history, it's usually safe to assume that the UK is in the wrong in any geopolitical disagreement outside of Europe. This seems to be the one exception: it isn't colonialism, because there was no one there to be colonised when the European settlers arrived. 🤷 #Argentina #UK #Falklands #Malvinas
