I remember the #bicentennial and it was so exciting the best thing ever, my village had a parade and ice cream as well as fireworks like every fourth, but bigger ones. We were sad when it was over, but then we figured out we'd probably all live to see the 250th. Can't say it's been the same, but I'm not 11 so hard to tell. #4thOfJuly #berlin #nokings #notyrants

I'm old enough to remember the #Bicentennial. We had just lost a war against a smaller nation. An incompetent #Republican president was embroiled in scandal due to a historically criminal presidency, who was mocked weekly on #SNL as a bumbling fool. Is this how we're going to celebrate every x50 centennial now? 🤔
