Another flag to raise against the fascist rule cross-posted from: lemmy.ml/post/53698743 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🇵🇸🏴‍☠️ EDIT: Replaced cool flag with a phtoto from an old article. It’s getting difficult to find useful images that I am 100% sure aren’t AI gen.

How are shadow libraries and private torrent trackers able to support fiat payments? Just curious seeing as Anna’s Archive supports Revolut and AliPay for example, and some private torrent trackers also support ways of making credit card payments. And how is this safe in any way for either of the receiver and sender?

Where to go for PS5 dumps? I found this one place, but it had me downloading 12 individual files in a rar format for one game. It was straight ass at how slow it was, I didn’t see anything on the pirate bay or 1337x, where are people finding game dumps?

What is your Music piracy system. More than just ‘what app are you using’, but I do want that as well. I want a good mindset for downloading music that has what I want and at least some of what I’ll probably like. Currently, partially as a limitation of the app, I have every song in every album that contains something I like. This works well ish for discovery, but I know less than a quarter of my library, no matter how much time I spend listening to new music. This was with Lidar + tubifary (Tidal and Slskd only). Currently I’m trying Downtify configured with slskd and yt as a backup, but it seems very slow to download and the app itself is very laggy.

Video file sizes: what do I need to know? I’m getting back into digital collecting after pretty much exhausting the local thriftstores of any movies I wanted to watch / own. I was thinking of burning everything to DVD but then I came to my senses and just installed Jellyfin. Question: What video file sizes do you guys download and why? And what is the correlation between video size and quality? I see some wild variations in file sizes even for the same res. Who are y’alls downloading 20+GB movies? Are you storing all that or are you downmixing? Are you stealing your harddrives out of the recycle bin? Any shortcuts for getting rich blacks for space scenes? Do I just need to suck it up eat the bytes? (I’m thinking of going this route for BSG and can’t remember if they go for video grain in space or true film black). What is the obvious thing I clearly don’t understand by asking these questions? So for me, it seems for file size, about 700MB / 90 minutes is about as low as I can go, and arguably it’s too low because I’m sometimes distracted by the low quality. I’m a little confused by what’s going on because I’ll often watch a DVD that’s being upscaled by the player and have no complaints, and I think that’s base 480 or lower, but a labelled 720p can have some distractingly low res. For my high end, 2GB at 1080p is about as high as I care to go unless it’s some crazy high quality cinematographic shit like Lawrence or Dune.

Whas your routine for tagging youtube music? Basically I have some music from future funk channels. Picard doesn’t recognize about 1000+ tracks. What’s your routine for filling missing fields for music tracks?

What do you think is the future of file sharing? There are now many technologies for P2P file sharing: Usenet Bittorrent IPFS Tenfinger more? And also several technologies for anonymization: VPNs Tor I2P AFAICT the most popular option is still Bittorrent with various public and private trackers and indexers. Private trackers seem to be the most effective option that communities have converged on. I’ve tried all of the above solutions over the years and while I think something like I2P sounds great in theory, it doesn’t seem to actually work well in practice. Because it’s not terribly popular, it’s hard to know what to expect. We clearly still haven’t found the ideal model that can provide both good performance, discovery, access, availability, and anonymity. But do you think we will actually make progress on these problems? We seem to have stabilized on a local maximum.

How to block Israel in qbittorrent (or any similar torrent client) cross-posted from: hexbear.net/post/3207959 I was going to make this exact tutorial but when making it I found out someone beat me to it about a year ago so I figured I’d repost that one instead since it’s a bit more in depth. Also while in many countries people use VPNs to torrent, making measures like this less helpful, occupiers of Palestine don’t really tend to use a VPN due to minimal prosecution so catching them with this method is a lot easier than it would be against a country like the US for example. We first need to obtain a blocklist of all possible Israeli ip addresses. This can be obtained from two sources. www.ip2location.com/free/visitor-blocker (choose peer guardian format) www.iblocklist.com Due to the nature of how IP addresses are distributed, these blocklists have to be updated, but that isn’t a huge concern for us right now. When you downloaded the file for Israel from either site, it should look something like this: Israel:2.16.36.0-2.16.36.255 Israel:2.22.233.0-2.22.233.255 Israel:2.52.0.0-2.55.255.255 Israel:2.57.228.0-2.57.231.255 Israel:2.58.33.0-2.58.33.255 Israel:3.2.42.0-3.2.42.63 Israel:3.5.56.0-3.5.59.255 Israel:5.22.128.0-5.22.135.255 Israel:5.28.128.0-5.28.191.255 Israel:5.29.0.0-5.29.255.255 Israel:5.100.248.0-5.100.255.255 If you wish to add more nations to the list such as TERF island or the 4th Reich, then you can append the files on top of each other into one file. Once you have the file, rename it with the .p2p extension so that qbittorrent will use it. Then, in your qbittorrent client, go to Preferences -> Connection. At the very bottom you should see a section labeled IP Filtering. In the Filter Path checkbox, select your .p2p file. You may also check the box to block trackers as well. In other bittorrent software (hopefully you’re using one that’s libre) there should be a similar option for ip filtering. There you go! You have effectively banned Israel from being your peer while you’re doing p2p transfers. This won’t stop Zionists from peering with you using a VPN or other undetected server, but this has done wonders for my mood. Always remember to port forward and seed when torrenting (A non-Zionist VPN like AirVPN or ProtonVPN can allow you to do that). Only a Zionist does a download and run. Resources github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/…/17457 From the discussion post: I was talking on my part, don’t know about others. I’m a constant seeder (7+ years) and monitor peers from time to time or when downloading something. During these years I’ve never seen a single Israeli seed on a rare torrent, or high download traffic from them. I’m being completely honest, the only time I see them is when they are downloading something from me.

Anyone know of a way to get Farming Sim 25 updates? Basically the title. The version I’ve got installed is a fairly old build and now the courseplay mod doesnt work, so I want to determine how easy/hard it is to update before committing to doing it.

BluRay/UDH Rippers? Anybody ever found a hacked version of any “supposed BluRay/UHD rippers” like DVDFab, DumboFab or Leawo that actually worked? I really liked Leawo and got a good copy from TorrentGalaxy but when it attempts to read the BluRay and, I guess, get its information, the software returns an error message and freezes up. The only software I’ve found that’ll handle most everything is MakeMKV but the only thing I don’t like about MakeMKV is no preview option plus sometimes it coughs a furball on regular DVDs.
