#becoming

Recently we celebrated Trans Day of Visibility, but words alone aren't enough. If you want to apply for GNOME Foundation membership you don't need to provide your legal name, you can use your actual name! We recognise the cruel reality that many trans people's legal names are deadnames. https://handbook.gnome.org/foundation/membership.html#becoming-a-member 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

Our Foundation members are not only developers. With this post we want to give a big shout out to our translators, designers and other volunteers! If you contribute at any capacity, you can apply to be a Foundation member! You just need to have other Foundation members who can vouch for you. https://handbook.gnome.org/foundation/membership.html#becoming-a-member
